CHANGE

Change can be one of the most unsettling things in our lives but it happens to be the one constant in our life. Change is inevitable. If we let it, change can bring great anxiety which is sad since we’re in a constant state of change. God has told us nothing stays the same, no matter how hard we try to control it.

Ecclesiastes 3-4 (KJV) To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Time moves on and sometimes we notice the change and other times we wake up one day and are hit with the reality that things changed while we were busy. Our bodies change, our family, our jobs, living location and society changes. Unfortunately, some even try to change the interpretation of the Bible but there is ONE THING THAT NEVER CHANGES...THIS ONE THING REMAINS.... His love NEVER fails and his word endures forever (as is)!

Isaiah 7-8 “The grass withers and the flowers fall when the breath of the LORD blows on them; indeed, the people are grass. 8The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.”

1 Peter 1:25 “but the word of the Lord stands forever. And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.”

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

Daniel 2: 20 “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.

We work hard to arrange routine, continuity and consistency in our lives so we have a feeling of order and control but God says, “TRUST ME, I’m in control.” No matter what comes our way, he tells us in his word that he will never leave us or never forsake us.

Any illusion of control is just that... an illusion because we really have NO control. Only God knows what tomorrow brings and he controls it. So, my dear child, rest in the Lord and relinquish the illusion of control or the belief that you have anything in order and release it to God. The Holy Spirit will be with you. Just invite him in to any circumstance you face.

While change can create anxiety, worry is not of God. It is a weapon of the enemy. God calls us to walk in perfect peace with direction from the Holy Spirit. When we operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, then our steps are directed of the Lord.

Lord please help us (me) relinquish complete control, walk in faith and turn every aspect of life over to you. My life is not my own, it was bought with a price.

Next time you notice change, try to get excited because God may be trying to send you blessings and power to do great things! Like that old hymn states: “We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow.” God bless you with peace and joyful anticipation today!

Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace.
Seasons on Belle Lake. Change can be a beautiful thing!
